More progress!
Hi everyone!
Checking in with some more progress on Delusions of a Lost Soul. I've been hard at work developing a playable demo for Steam's Next Fest, which starts June 10th (I also have the official steam page up, but won't link it here for obvious reasons).
I included a screen grab of my WIP main menu screen for the demo. I've put this off for a while but I'm pretty happy with the simplistic look and functionality. Just need to finish up the options page. I don't have a ton of new content to show at this stage - I'm mainly polishing the first two levels of the game that will be used for the demo (and trying to squash every bug along the way!). A couple weeks ago I made the mistake of upgrading my project to a new Unity version that is non-LTS in order to escape some particular bugs that were annoying me. It was working well enough for about a week, but I began experiencing more bugs in the editor (load screens hanging, stuff like that). Although I completed a lot of work during that week, I had to make the tough decision to revert to my old project version, a backup that I made before the upgrade (make backups, folks!). Thankfully, I was able to restore the work I'd done within a day or two and now I'm back on track.
Currently, I'm knee-deep in sound design, which is really bringing the game to life. A good game should draw your attention and bring you fully into the world you are exploring. I love immersive game atmospheres, so that's what I'm hoping to achieve here. Music is next!
That's all I have for this week - stay tuned for more updates. Make sure to follow me on twitter, that's where I post most frequently!
